Hi, I’m Kelsey
Now, what to tell you…
Short version: I’m 23. I recently graduated college with a Bachelor’s degree in English with a concentration in Creative Writing and a minor in Communication. I currently work with animals but I also want to work with words 🙂
Long story: I guess I’m changing all the time. I look back days, weeks, years ago and find myself wondering who WAS that person. I fall in and out of love with things and places and times, but there are a few things I often always come back to. A few of these things you’ll find somewhere on this blog. The first of these loves is writing. Which brings you here. Twice I’ve participated in NaNoWriMo and have created two books that I’m really proud of. If you’re wondering where they are, well… I’m still editing them, which is one hundred times more daunting than actually writing them. I also like to dance around with poetry every once in awhile and would someday like to work on a screenplay.
Another one of my big loves happens to be animals. On June 14, 2014 I became a vegetarian after watching a video at Warped Tour of chickens being tortured and then talking to a number of lovely people about their own journey. I’d always “considered” going vegetarian before but I don’t believe that I ever thought I’d stick with it. A little over two years later on July 21, 2016 I decided to go vegan, kicking my first day off in one of the most vegan friendly cities: Portland, Oregon! Everyday I become more and more conscious of all the unnecessary pain and suffering animals go through, as well as the ways in which we are constantly harming the environment. I’m always looking for ways to be more eco-friendly and less of a burden on others and the planet.
Some other things I love and adore include Volkswagen Vans, Typewriters, Photography, Indie Music, Films (and the Art of Filmmaking), letter writing, and cats. I’m sure my list will only continue to grow.
This blog will serve to display all aspects of my imagination for pure documentational fun, to see my progress down the road and look back on for encouragement, and to connect with others. Hope you enjoy reading my posts as much as I enjoy writing and creating content for them 🙂
